An Explanation of My Web Presence Creation Selection

Firstly, I have chosen Blogspot as my central node for the web presence creation assignment purpose. In fact, there are a lot of blogging platforms for free such as WordPress, Wretch, Sina and more. But I have chosen to use Blogspot because I’m quite familiar with it and it is easier for me to use and manage it.

In addition, Blogspot is one of the most popular blogging platforms and even content sharing platforms in Web 2.0. It has provided the flexible and simply managed node for users to handle and manage their blogs easily.

Next, the presentation template that I’m using in Blogspot is the “picture window” but I have changed its background to my own picture in order to suit with my theme about food. It can be felt like colorful and full of energy. In fact, as a human we can’t be separated from the food which is one of the living conditions of us. Food provides energy for us to support our body or life to do our daily works especially the delicious food will be the priority of choices among consumers. Thus, I have chosen the colorful background in order to attract readers and make the people who read my blog will feel young and energetic. It is a young and energetic color!

Meanwhile, I have added some gadgets to make my blog look more attractive and more interaction between readers to me such as the chat room and the sharing tool for leaving their messages to me and sharing my blog in Facebook or Twitter. On the other hand, I have provided the simply information or introduction about me and I have also added the gadgets of music and recipes at the sidebar in order to create an nice atmosphere and environment for my readers to enjoy their wonderful moments at here as well as they can use the recipes tools to find out the recipes that they want to learn and know about. My readers just have to simply click or type it then the tools will link them to the website and they can find their recipes easily. Then, this is the way that I manage my blog to make it looks neat and easier for my readers to read and attractive as well, by dividing my blog page to be viewed in two columns.

Besides, the contributing nodes that I choose for my blog are Facebook, Twitter and RSS in order to engage and allow more readers to share my blog and attract more anonymous readers at the same time.

First of all, Facebook is the most popular social networking site at the moment. Instead of looking at Facebook as a tool to look up other college students, you really feel like you can look up almost anyone in the world (Zuckerberg, 2010). So we can know how effective and powerful impacts or influences have been given by Facebook. This is the purpose that I choose Facebook as one of my contributing notes to engage my friends or attract other readers to interact with me through the simply way.

Secondly, the popular social networking site which is climbing the ranks rapidly in social networks now - Twitter has become one of my contributing nodes (Kazeniac, 2009). In fact, Twitter can be counted as a microblog (mini blog) according to the limited word count for users to contribute their contents. It is slightly different with the Facebook. But the purpose of Twitter for providing this function is to engage or attract the users to contribute their contents according to their emotion, feeling, the things or incidents happening at the moment. It is simple and concise. So I can simply use it to share my blog on Twitter and attract more readers to read and share my blog.

Lastly, the RSS (Really Simple Syndication) is one of my choices in contributing nodes. It is a format which is developed by the feature through XML (King, 2003). So the side content managers can be passed to subscribers. This is a thing like newsletters and newsgroups but it gives the readers a greater ability to customize and richer information. Thus, it can be my one contributing nodes to subscribe my blog to the websites such as Google and Yahoo in order to attract more anonymous readers to know about my blog and interact with me.

Ultimately, I have concluded my central node and contributing notes with the communication or interaction and content sharing which is amply utilised by the users to narrow the gap of all over the world to present and engage my food blog with the platform of Web 2.0.
